I Design Things

Though my focus is on front-end web design and development, I have a formal education heavily rooted in traditional studio art, and have freelanced and worked in print design. Regardless of medium, I love creating simple and effective designs that reach a broad range of viewers.

On my design interests and related ideals, just a few quick points:

  1. Great design is about communication, not decoration.
  2. I am stringent about clean, standards-compliant, hand-coded web designs
  3. I believe usability and simplicity are paramount in creating a successful web experience
  4. Though I make daily use of the Adobe Creative Suite, I have a soft spot for the Open Source Movement
  5. The single greatest tool any designer can possess is to love their craft. Expensive equipment is simply an indulgence
  6. Strong SEO and a person's dependability begin with honesty

I Do Other Things Too

The few times that I am not sitting in front of a computer, I generally spend with my wonderful, all-too-supportive wife Nicole. I am a proud cajun, sporting every single vowel in my last name (and no, Y does not count). A nerd at heart, I love world music, 16-bit era video games, craft beer, and am in a state of constant preparation for the Zombie Apocalypse.
